"The Spirit of a Tree"

In May 2022, a 100-year-old maple tree that had watched over a house in the town of Namie was cut down. Unless the land is cleared and sold, they will have to continue paying property taxes on land they do not live on. The entire cost of cutting down the trees was borne by the company. But even if they did, there would be no buyers for the land contaminated by the nuclear accident. In response to the homeowner's appeal to buy the land, the government stated, Land contaminated by radiation is not suitable for sale. "We cannot buy land contaminated by radiation."

After eleven years
As if soaring to the heavens
Even now, somewhere in Namie's sky
